The role

Your role will include providing assistance to the National EHS Manager to proactively ensure compliance with legislation, business policies and procedures; with the objective of minimising accidents/incidents as well as environmental damage.

You will enjoy promoting best practice initiatives and have a strong focus on developing robust working relationships with all stakeholders, assisting with the identification of risk and areas of non-compliance, providing training and advice in a positive and enthusiastic manner.

Duties to include

  • Assist with delivery of the EHS Training Programmes
  • Identify areas of risk and non-compliance and assist with providing solutions rather than purely presenting problems
  • Assist with generating and communicating relevant documentation including; toolbox talks, safety topics and environmental alerts
  • Assist with the implementation of procedures for accident/incident reporting and the analysis of such, including recommendation of strategies for reduction
  • Keep abreast of best practice industry initiatives as well as legislative changes and communicate throughout the business as required
  • Assist with the implementation and completion of risk assessments, JSEA’s etc.
  • Provide advice and assistance with investigations and management of incidents or near miss reports
  • Assist with the review and monitoring of the EHS management system
  • Maintain networks both internally and externally within industry, statutory and professional bodies

Skills and experience required

  • Relevant EHS qualification
  • Knowledge and experience in providing an environment encouraging a proactive safety culture
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skillset
  • Strong ability to build robust and sustainable relationships with all stakeholders
  • Resourceful, positive and proactive attitude
  • Enthusiastic, energetic and outcome focussed
  • Experience in auditing and delivering training is preferred
  • Previous injury management experience
  • Excellent computer literacy
  • Current clean Drivers Licence
  • Ability to travel as and when required
