Experienced Environment, Health, Safety and Risk Coordinator required – Levin and Christchurch

The role

Reporting to the Group Manager and also at site level, the EHSR Coordinator has site responsibility for coordinating daily EHSR activities and duties. Leading the EHSR Safety Committee, you will also provide support to site management to ensure agreed actions and activities are completed.

Key to this role is a thorough understanding of environmental requirements and working knowledge of machinery and guarding. The successful candidate will also have an in-depth understanding of Risk Management, continuity planning and emergency preparedness.

Able to work independently, you will be a motivated self-starter – with excellent communication skills.

Duties

  • Coordinate routine EHSR activities
  • Manage site improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate and participate in regular site inspections
  • Oversee satellite production facilities
  • Administer contractor and visitor management
  • Provide injury management support
  • Review and maintain safety records and documents
  • Coordinate and lead Site Safety Committees
  • Assist and support the wider EHSR team

Skills and experience

  • Proven organisational and decision-making skill
  • Tertiary qualification preferred but not essential
  • Thorough understanding of legislation
  • Hands on experience in a manufacturing environment
