The role

Reporting to the Deputy Chief Executive, we require a highly accomplished and experienced safety leader to drive engagement and strategic direction. Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills are a must. Suitable candidates will require a high degree of resilience and drive, able to deliver cultural change and develop a team of high performing experts.

Duties

  • Lead, develop and implement a strategic safety plan and framework
  • Collaborate with the senior executive and organisational leaders, growing HSW awareness and ownership
  • Build powerful partnerships with relevant industry bodies
  • Ensure that robust governance programs are in place to support ongoing HSW Management
  • Provide expert leadership to the HSW team
  • Drive transformational change

Skills and experience

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to drive and deliver cultural change
  • Tertiary level Health and Safety qualification
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant experience managing safety in a complex, large scale organisation
  • Chartered Membership of a relevant industry body (IOSH, NZISM etc)
  • Robust and thorough working knowledge of HSWA 2015
