About the role

The Group Safety Managers role will report to the GM People, Safety and Performance – providing an innovative, proactive and collaborative approach, enabling a change of mindset throughout the entire organisation.

Working collaboratively with the executive team and wider company and branch networks, your excellent employee engagement skillset will rise to the fore and you will work as a true partner, fostering pragmatic and robust relationships that support a safety-value led culture.

Duties will include:

  • Create the Safety strategic direction and plan for implementation ensuring the wider business plans and objectives are taken into consideration
  • Risk Management to include training to ensure a genuine understanding and buy in by all
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to enable a proactive safety culture
  • Provide sound and accurate technical advice and guidance
  • Effectively mentor Safety team to ensure great performance, delivery and capability

Skills and experience

Your experience will have seen you working as a true partner, fostering pragmatic and engaging relationships that have supported an organisation to be a safe employer of choice, effectively servicing customers competitively, whilst achieving a safety-value led culture simultaneously.

You will have a proven ability in building and maintaining trusted relationships, whilst having conversations that challenge the status quo and uplift capability is crucial.

You will have led a team of Advisors who are immersed in business operations nationally, utilising their skills and expertise to influence, innovate and implement the safe systems of work framework to eliminate or minimise risk, create efficiencies and improve overall Safety outcomes.

It is anticipated that you will already have achieved great outcomes in a previous position, through uplifting Safety maturity and capability, whilst championing people to create an environment where everyone feels safe, cared for and thrives.

Your level of qualification, experience, key achievements and proactive personality will all play a big part in being successful in this position.
