With 21 nationwide depots and around 130 permanent staff, safety is at the forefront of everything this company does. Established nearly 50 years ago, they lead their industry in providing customised, end to end solutions for the transportation and distribution of dangerous goods.

About the role

A newly established role, you will assist the National Health, Safety and Compliance Manager in providing advice, support and guidance throughout the company. Outcome focussed, you’ll enjoy the opportunity to take ownership of your role and be able to work autonomously as required with a deep understanding of what safety means and how to implement it in this environment.

You’ll have input into the development of safety initiatives and potential to be instrumental in researching and embedding a safety management system that combines their existing process and procedure into a robust and practical working system.

Predominantly based in Glenbrook, the role will require regular days spent in Ellerslie and you must be able to travel to other depots to provide support and training.

Skills and experience

Communication is key, as is solid HSE knowledge and the ability to engage across the business. Experience in implementing safety management systems would be a benefit and highly developed administration or coordination skills are a must.

A high-risk environment, the successful candidate will have experience and/or qualification in incident investigation such as ICAM or similar.

  • Tertiary qualification in HSE is preferred but Level IV will be considered
  • Previous experience in a multi-site environment
  • Proven experience in implementing process
  • Strong influencing and engagement skills
  • Exceptional time management and organisational skills
  • Self-Motivation and the ability to prioritise workload
  • Clean, full NZ Driver’s licence
