About the role

As 2IC to the National Health and Safety Manager and based in the Waikato, this role provides support to sites nationwide. You’ll guide and mentor site-based staff, ensuring the continued improvement and evolution of established health and safety frameworks in a high-risk manufacturing environment.

Duties will include

  • Conducting site risk assessments and audits
  • Guiding site staff to identify and prioritise areas of improvement
  • Assist with investigations and facilitate corrective actions
  • Oversee the development of SOPs and training programs

Skills and experience

This role requires well developed communication and coaching skills. Providing visible, technical expertise and knowledge in health and safety, you won’t be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. In a time of transformation and change, you’ll be able to think on your feet and provide timely advice and creative solutions.

  • Relevant qualification in health and safety
  • High risk manufacturing experience is an advantage
  • ISO Audit qualification and/or experience is preferred

This role also requires the flexibility to travel, a clean driver’s licence and candidates must be fully vaccinated.
