A hands-on role where you’ll split your time between site and office providing practical support to the Senior Safety Manager. 

All applicants will be required to provide proof of their eligibility to work in New Zealand. 

About the role

Based at Auckland Airport, this is a flexible role, with opportunity to work from home 2 days a week. Assisting the Senior Safety Manager and as part of a well-supported, established team you’ll provide visible and practical support in areas including:

  • Chemical handling and management
  • Workplace injury and rehabilitation
  • Workplace health monitoring
  • Coordinating Health and Safety Reps
  • Participate in emergency response planning

Scheduled domestic and international travel is required.

Skills and experience

Ideally suited to a Manager who wants to retain site interaction, or a Senior Advisor or Business Partner ready for the next step, you will be someone who can lead by example and work collaboratively with teams to mitigate risk.

Experience in emergency response is highly desirable and that will include monitoring of firefighting and first aid equipment, coordinating evacuation drills and ensuring each base has qualified personnel.

Liasing with external providers and division managers on successful return to work and rehab programs is also an area of focus, so experience is required to see this through end-to-end.  With new initiatives on the way in workplace health monitoring, experience in running these programs is also desirable. 

Experience in high-risk industry or activities is essential and it’s expected that the successful candidate will have relevant qualifications.
