Seeking an experienced Health and Safety Administrator to support and assist a proactive team in the implementation of effective safety systems and processes

The company

Our client is one of New Zealand’s largest shared service organisations, supporting health services in the community by providing IT, finance, supply chain, procurement and customer services support. Proud to be a driving force in healthcare, they are also proud of their people and seeking to build and enhance their health and safety team.

The role

The successful candidate will be joining an established team, assisting and supporting them in the successful implementation of efficient safety processes. Key to this role with be the efficient, organised and timely update of safety documents, registers and reports as required.

Attention to detail and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships throughout the business and with external stakeholders will enable the right candidate to succeed in this role.

Duties

  • Maintain the documents and tools required to assist the business with health, safety and wellbeing responsibilities
  • Ensure all incidents are reported and managed within the safety system
  • Provide required reports to internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with the administration of return to work and rehabilitation plans
  • Organise and diarise Health and Safety Committee meetings, attending as Safety Team representative.
  • Complete meeting minutes
  • Create and manage purchase orders
  • Update and review the client’s intranet

Skills and experience

  • A recognised qualification in occupational health and safety is preferred
  • Experience and working knowledge of relevant New Zealand health and safety legislation
  • Proven experience in document control and review
  • Exceptional attention to detail and well-developed time management skill
  • Experience in a similar industry or organisation would be of benefit
