Our global paint and coatings client, is seeking a suitably experienced candidate, with the ability to step into the role of HSE Manager.

Reporting to the Group HSE and Engineering Manager in Australia, you will lead and mentor Regional and Site Management Teams in relation to HSE legislation, driving standards and best practice. Fundamentally you will build awareness and competence around HSE for both employees and contractors.

Continuous improvement within the Environmental, Health and Safety fields will enable this company to achieve business excellence. The overall goal being the development of an embedded safety culture and zero harm working environment.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Monitoring, coaching, mentoring and support, throughout the organisation
  • Develop and instil safety awareness
  • Lead culture change and ensure the mitigation of key risks
  • Perform regular site inspections and audits
  • Ensure the robust, accurate and timely reporting of accidents and near misses
  • Identify new practices and processes for ongoing improvements
  • In collaboration with the Group Manager, develop bespoke training solutions
  • Provide professional HSE leadership to all levels of the business

You will also need to demonstrate competency in:

  • Health, Safety and Environmental Management
  • Auditing
  • Delivering culture change and improvements
  • Project Management
  • Mentoring and coaching, training and presenting
  • Reporting and analysing information in a timely manner

You will have:

  • An excellent command of the English language – both verbal and written
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, with great self-motivation
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment
  • Great computer literacy skills
  • A working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 and AS/NZS4801
  • A results/outcome focussed personality
  • Able to commute to Avondale and travel nationally as required
