Reporting to the Site Manager, you will provide credible leadership and ensure the level of engagement and understanding is such, that everyone will gain through buying into safety initiatives, policies and procedures.

Excellent technical knowledge is a given but more importantly you will have an exceptional communication skillset, both written and verbal in order to work at all levels within the business and also when representing the business to external stakeholders and the wider community.

You will be driven by the challenge and focussed on the outcomes, with a passion for people’s safety and wellbeing.

Duties

  • Provide Environment, Health and Safety operational risk management
  • Improve awareness, to enable a move toward a proactive safety culture
  • Ensure robust and proactive regulatory liaison and compliance
  • Facilitate onsite training and education to all site employees and contractors
  • Support all stakeholders with providing timely information and advice
  • Integrate EHS with lean manufacturing practices
  • Represent the organisation in a professional manner to external stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement

Skills and experience

  • Relevant tertiary level qualification
  • Solid experience within high hazard manufacturing environment
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and all EHS compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication skillset
  • Proven ability in building a proactive safety culture
  • Engaging, influential, credible ability by nature
  • Happy to be a sole resource and experience within a similar environment
  • Proven ability to work within an operational and highly demanding environment
  • Fantastic initiative, flexibility, adaptability and wanting to bring your A game every day
