Seeking an experienced Safety Advisor to assist and support the Contracting team with the delivery of HSEQ services. This is an excellent opportunity to operate in a safety critical, dynamic environment.

The role

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, the role will involve a balance of both regular BAU Safety Advisor activities together with support on specific safety initiatives/projects. There will be a reactive element to the role, responding to queries and incidents and also updated the HSNO register.

It will require strong time management skills and will provide robust support to the HSEQ Manager and operational team, driving consistency and safety performance.

The role will be primarily site based however there may be the requirement for occasional field visits.

Role and responsibility

  • Support the HSEQ Manager and operational teams
  • Engage with external contractors, completing full inductions
  • Take ownership of injury management and RTW processes
  • Ensure that the risk register is maintained and up to date
  • Conduct accident and incident investigation if requested
  • Audit operational teams and third-party contractors
  • Assist with the development of the company’s HSNO register

To be successful in this role, you will have

  • Minimum Level 4 OHS Certificate
  • A practical background within a critical risk industry such as construction or power generation
  • A solid understanding of health and safety principles and practices
  • Keep up to date with changes to legislation, new Codes of Practice and best practice guidelines
  • Great communication skills at all levels and people management skills
