Our client seeks a passionate HSEQ Advisor to assist in the key activities to mitigate risk, partnering with Field Managers and Sub Contractors

The role

Provide HSEQ advice, guidance, support and coaching at all levels within your region.  Engage with all, ensuring HSEQ remains a key business focus across the organisation, delivering the National HSEQ strategy.

Reporting to the National HSEQ Manager, the team plays a key role in the delivery of requirements by supporting and role modelling these behaviours in line with the company values.

It is anticipated that the role will contain a 50/50 mix of field work and admin.

You will liaise with external parties and will promote and lead best practice occupational health and safety practices, environmental awareness and quality standards, assisting management, staff and delivery partners.

A genuine passion for HSEQ, strong leadership capabilities and experience are necessary to be successful in gaining this position.

Travel is a requirement of the role, covering the Wellington region through to the Upper South Island.

Duties include:

  • Play a lead role in shaping a proactive HSEQ culture and support the strategic direction
  • Encourage commitment to high quality, best practice work
  • Provide education, support and training out in the field – aligned with a proactive stance
  • Evaluate, review and provide technical HSEQ advice
  • Monitor and report
  • Investigate incidents/accidents, providing recommendations for prevention
  • Work in partnership with all stakeholders to encourage “Right First Time”Skills and experience include:
  • Experience within telecommunications or construction in similar role is essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (including training and Lead Auditor)
  • In depth knowledge of AS/NZ 4801, ISO 14001, ISO 9001
  • Great Contractor Management and Permit to Work experience
  • Resilient by nature
  • Proactive, energetic and enthusiastic
  • Be flexible, anticipate 50/50 practical field work/admin
