Join our customer driven client in the role of Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, with a focus to provide a proactive safety environment

The company

Our client has more than 1000 staff around the country working within more than 250 branches.

The role

Partner with the senior leadership team to embed the safety and wellbeing management system.

Working from an operational level, the successful candidate will provide the level of influence to ensure the people are brought on the safety journey, motivating to provide for a more mature and safety conscious/proactive culture throughout the organisation.

Duties include:

  • Provide the assistance required in order to imbed the strategy in line with critical risks and the psychology of safety.
  • Coach and mentor key stakeholders, providing the subject matter expertise enabling responsibility and accountability throughout
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to embed new initiatives
  • Communicate and champion the Safety and Wellbeing portfolio
  • Assist with the integration of work plans into existing business planning processes
  • Encourage a high level of incident reporting, providing feedback and working to ensure close out of actions in a timely manner
  • Assist with the delivery of minimum standards/protocols for all high risk activities, contractor management and compliance

Skills and experience include

  • Relevant OHS tertiary qualification
  • Investigation and audit qualifications preferred
  • Track record of successfully supporting organisational culture change
  • In depth understanding/knowledge of legislation
  • OHS experience within a large corporate/banking or similar environment
  • Strong ability to engage and influence at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skillset with a collaborative approach
  • Excellent computer literacy
