Our client requires an experienced and qualified individual who has excellent experience with multi-site residential construction and PCBU collaboration

The role

Reporting to the Operations Manager and working closely with the senior leadership team, this position will review and refine all Wellbeing, Safety and Environmental practices to provide streamlined systems, procedures and reporting functions.

Drive a safety first and environmentally focussed culture, working closely with the key stakeholders and PCBU’s, ensuring a people led health and safety culture.

Duties

  • Conduct a full review of the safety management system in order to provide a robust, efficient and compliant way forward
  • Set the Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Environmental strategy and objectives in conjunction with the senior leadership team
  • Chair and mentor the Health and Safety Committee
  • Provide a reporting system that meets industry standards and implement throughout the organisation
  • Ensure relevant, clear and concise reporting on a monthly basis to the senior management team
  • Facilitate training as required
  • Collaborate with all internal and external stakeholders and ensure all PCBU’s are engaged in the process
  • Lead incident/accident investigations
  • Provide operationally practical advice
  • Coach, mentor and educate to ensure a good level of understanding at all levels, through toolbox talks and proactive on-site safety conversations
  • Monitor, audit and follow up to ensure corrective actions are in place and reviewed regularly

Skills and experience

  • Significant Health and Safety experience within a high-risk environment (construction preferred)
  • Relevant tertiary level qualification
  • Superior communication skillset – both written and verbal
  • Analytical in approach with strong interpretation and reporting skills
  • Solid contractor management experience
  • Very strong ability in gap analysis, review of systems
  • Highly capable in creating and implementing policy and procedure
  • Outcome focused, driven to succeed – provide solutions not problems
  • Mentoring, influential and engaging personality is a must.
