Our client is a well-established construction management contractor, providing specialist design-build solutions throughout New Zealand.

The role

This position will assist with looking after multiple project sites within the Otago region.

If you have recently come from a construction background and wish to develop your skills and experience in health and safety, this is an ideal opportunity

Reporting to the Regional Health and Safety Manager, this company offers long term scope within their highly successful and growing business.

Duties

  • Assist with managing, facilitating and promoting the development, maintenance and implementation of the company’s health and safety management systems
  • Support the audit process and monitor to ensure compliance to legislation and company procedures
  • Provide specialist advice and information to all stakeholders
  • Assist with providing a high level of reporting for trends, planning and performance measures
  • Promote a positive safety behavioural culture

Skills and experience required

  • Strong construction experience
  • Excellent health and safety knowledge within a construction environment
  • Preference will be given to those candidates with OHS qualifications although your experience will be considered
  • Strong ability to work well within a team environment
  • Proactive and energetic
  • A truly effective communication style and the ability to influence at all levels
  • Outcome focussed, with a strong ability to problem solve
  • Great time management skills
  • Lead from the front to provide safety visibility, engagement and participation
