The roles purpose

Utilise your significant Environmental, Health and Safety experience, business acumen, negotiating and influencing skillset, along with your very real desire to promote and drive change, ensuring all employees in New Zealand work within a safe and healthy environment, with minimal impact on the physical environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop, implement and achieve a comprehensive change management programme.

Create an environment, through influence and education, where a proactive culture can thrive and best practice EHS becomes foremost in all employee minds, with ownership taken by all Managers as a core responsibility for them to champion.

Duties include

  • Review, develop and implement robust and best practice EHS systems and processes
  • Provide systems which enable and encourage the effective reporting of incidents/accidents
  • Share your knowledge from a risk management perspective – encourage identification and mitigation of risk in a timely manner and at all levels
  • Conduct regular monitoring/audits and training
  • Develop communication strategies/systems, benchmarks and encourage innovation and ideas to come to the fore
  • Advise the leadership team, ensure awareness of all statutory obligations
  • Establish robust working relationships at all levels both internal and external

Skills and experience

  • Significant experience in an EHS leadership role
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification (i.e. Diploma level )
  • Strong presentation and communication skillset (both written and verbal)
  • Successful experience driving and sustaining organisational change
  • Full knowledge and experience of audit/monitoring programs – internal/external
  • Influencing, motivating and engaging personality
  • Strong computer literacy, including reporting and presentation material
