Our global industrial products client, is seeking a suitably experienced candidate, with the ability to step into the role of HSE Compliance Manager.

Reporting to the Managing Director (NZ), you will be involved with the implementation of global programs, the monitoring and provision of support to ensure nationwide compliance with all company policies and objectives.

Continuous improvement within the Environmental, Health and Safety fields will enable this company to achieve business excellence and you will play your part by mentoring, coaching and educating staff to achieve a successful outcome.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Monitoring, coaching, mentoring and support, throughout the organisation
  • Ensure compliance with the Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System
  • Assist in achieving continuous improvement in HSEQ
  • Maintain legal compliance and adopt best practice initiatives
  • Work to OHSAS 18001, ISO14001, ISO9001 standards
  • Work towards a more proactive safety culture
  • Engage with all key stakeholders to gain buy in, thereby achieving compliance
  • Train in all aspects of Risk Management, accident/incident reporting and investigations
  • Ensure correct root cause analysis is determined allowing for accurate corrective actions
  • Encourage timely reporting and corrective action close offs

We would anticipate successful candidates would be able to demonstrate the above strengths, giving good examples from their experience in previous roles.

You will also need to demonstrate competency in:

  • Health and Safety
  • Auditing
  • Project Management
  • Mentoring and coaching, training and presenting
  • Reporting and analysing information in a timely manner

You will have:

  • An excellent command of the English language – both verbal and written
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • The ability to work autonomously, with great self-motivation
  • Experience working within an industrial, engineering or transport environment
  • Great computer literacy skills
  • An Innovative approach
  • A results/outcome focussed personality
  • Be able to travel nationwide and to Australia on occasion
