Our client is seeking a proactive individual with great computer literacy, excellent communication skillset and experience within health and safety

 The company and role

This is a great role located at one of the Shopping Centres in Massey, West Auckland.

You will report to the Facilities Manager and be responsible for the Centre operations, assets and risk management, as well as working with the Centre Management Team to promote positive Risk and Security Management behaviours – minimising the risks and ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures.

The role will have a working week from Tuesday to Saturday.  On Saturdays you will be Duty Manager which will add further variety to your working week.

The successful candidate will probably live in the area and enjoy the stress free drive to work and also look forward to enjoying those lazy Sundays and more importantly blissful Mondays, not having to get up on time to battle the traffic and get to work.

 Duties include

  • Risk Management and Compliance – promoting a safe and healthy workplace through a robust system for the identification, control and management of risks
  • Contractor Management, including the pre-qualification and induction process
  • Management of insurance claims
  • Reporting in a timely and accurate manner on HS performance
  • Implement, maintain, manage and communicate health and safety procedures to all stakeholders
  • Coordinate employee training and maintain accurate records
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with operations and management
  • Communicate and manage relationships with retailers, including providing a detailed Duty Manager report for all incidents/events

 Skills and experience – highly desirable

  • Strong and practical knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
  • Proven experience within effective risk management
  • Relevant qualification in OHS (prefer Diploma)
  • Computer literate – especially Word and Excel
  • Proven ability with report writing
  • Effective communication and people management skillset
