About the role

You will lead the Safety and Wellbeing team to ensure legal obligations are met through the implementation of robust policies and plans – providing the tools to ensure effective support, education and accountabilities are understood at all levels throughout the organisation.

Your duties will range from creating the strategic/annual plan and policies through to ensuring audits and reviews are handled in a proactive manner, providing for continuous improvement at each step.

Skills and experience

This is not a step-up role – you will have sufficient experience in a large and complex organisation, dealing with multiple stakeholders, leading safety and wellbeing teams to successful outcomes.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Practical and working knowledge of NZ legislation
  • A strategic approach to HSE and Wellbeing management
  • Strength in building trusted and respectful relationships
  • A resilient nature with a proactive attitude
  • Excellent oral and written communication
